Wednesday Evening Entertainment

Join us Wednesday evening at 6:00 for a catered dinner celebration inside the American Bald Eagle Museum. Sit down at long tables for a delicious meal among friends and join us for our Award dinner, introductions, and a preview of the Festival activities by our Own emcee Al Batt! Following dinner there will be a Live Bird demonstration with our new resident birds with thier Handlers and our Youth Raptor Handlers! There is an additional $35 fee for the Wednesday night festival dinner. This annual event sells out each year. Please register online to attend. The main course will offer an option of Prime rib or local Halibut.

Thursday Evening Entertainment

       An Exclusive Alaskan Wild Animal presentation by  Kroschels Wild Animal Center owner Steve Kroschel at the American Bald Eagle Foundation.  Feature opportunities for up-close and personal experiences with up to 4 species of Alaskan Wildlife!  Some species include  wolf, lynx, fox, reindeer, porcupine, wolverine, marten and more!  Details on which animals will be shown as the date grows closer. http://www.kroschelfilms.com/ for a peek of what you could see!!

Also don't miss our Bald Eagle Chocolate Extravaganza Buffet: Presenting our Chocolate Buffet sold by the piece. Chocolate Fountain Fondue, Chocolate Eagles, Chocolate Bear Scat,  Chocolate Moose Droppings, Porcupines, Chocolate Cherry Mice, Owl cupcakes to name a few!!

Friday Evening Entertainment

Featuring Live Entertainment.We have hired a band called " The Flukes"  Bring your dancing shoes! These 6 men  and one lady play a variety of instruments including the English Concertina, Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Ole Washboard Bass and More! The "Flukes" have developed an enjoyable, unique, quality repertoire that is old timey and beyond. A Good Time for all for sure!!

Flight For Freedom Live Auction and Banquet

We are pleased to announce and offer you our personal invitation to make your Reservation for the 3rd Annual Flight For Freedom Live Auction & Banquet being held this year at the American Bald Eagle Foundation on Saturday, November 12th 2011 We are very excited to add this to our Festival. Dinner and Auction will be held at the foundation. Please know all proceeds stay in Haines. "Flight for Freedom" has donated up to  50% of the net Proceeds back to Haines residents to include Multiple School programs, Boys Scouts, Big Brothers and Sisters, Haines Fireworks Fund,  Grants to other non profit foundations Family and Haines Community Day and Luncheon at the ABEF, the Booster Club, to name a few. The remaining 50% of the Proceeds helps to feed our new resident birds Please join us for this exciting event! Fabulous food and auction items! Saturday Tour : Klukwan Cultural Tour

Join us to celebrate the annual Alaska Bald Eagle Festival and experience the traditional food, dance and culture of the Chilkat people on a visit to Klukwan, an authentic Alaskan Native village. En route, you'll witness the natural beauty of a national scenic byway as you travel through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.

Upon arriving to Klukwan, you'll visit the recently built replica of a Long House, traditionally used for special gatherings, winter housing and a place for villagers to create art in the ancient style. You'll enjoy cultural dances and songs and learn about the Chilkat blanket, a signature creation by the people of this area. At the Carving Shed, you'll hear of the significance and history of the designs, colors and tools used to pass down legends from generation to generation.
Your next stop is the Hospitality House, where you'll enjoy a salmon or chicken meal as an elder provides insight into the Tlingit culture. Here, you'll learn about the clan system and hear antidotes of humorous events, as well as tragedies that have occurred over the thousands of years the tribe has existed on this land. After lunch watch the bird presentation/release conducted by join Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation in front of the Hospitality House.

Activity Level: Moderate walking over uneven gravel grounds. The tour site in Klukwan is wheelchair accessible; however the transportation does not have a lift.
Notes:Prices are per person.This tour is designed exclusively for the Alaska Bald Eagle Festival. Advance reservations required. Please book early to secure your spot. Reservations can be made with Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation under Festival Registration or you can go online at www.visitklukwan.com. Tour bus will depart from parking lot at Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation.  If you are driving on your own please arrive at the Hospitality House in Klukwan before 10:00am. You need to bring your booking confirmations (tickets) required for admission. The bird presentation/release is provided by Alaska Bald Eagle Foundation.
